BHUBANESWAR - Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest against the presence of novelist and activist Arundhati Roy for her recent comments on resolving the Kashmir issue.

Activists shouted slogans against Roy who was invited by human rights groups and tribal organisations.

At least five people were injured in a clash between ABVP activists and organizers of the event. Later, police arrested all 11 activists.

Roy said that she stood by what she had said earlier, and a writer has every right to express her views.

“See, if there is one writer on one hand and the whole world, on the other hand, is against that writer then we should stay in that only. So, I don’t see any problem in that. I am not a politician. I’m not asking for any votes. They have a right to protest, I have a right to my views,” said Roy. (ANI)
