MUMBAI - A female tailor from Jharkhand’s Giridih district Rahat Tasleem (37) became the first woman to win the mega-prize of one crore rupees on the game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati?’ in Mumbai.
After the win, Bollywood superstar and the host of the popular game show, Amitabh Bachchan, said that if women are given opportunities, they can prove their talents.
“This proves that if women are given a chance, they can show their talents, and Rahat is that example of how a woman from a small village was given a chance to play this game, and whatever her aspirations, or her knowledge were, it tested them and won the game. I congratulate her for the win. She has become an example for all the women in India,” said Bachchan.
Tasleem said that she was confident wining and achieving her goals.
“I never thought that this would happen. I had this strength and had this one chance, and when I got this chance, I did not want to miss it. I was ready to face all difficulties, all obstacles and was able to reach this point. I wasn’t able to cross the ‘fastest finger first’ level. I tried so many times and I knew I could do it,” said Tasleem.
Taleem further said with the prize money she would open a boutique, fulfill her necessities and give the rest to charity. (ANI)
