Dalai Lama receives Mother Teresa award

NEW DELHI - Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama was conferred the Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice for his contribution towards humanity, promoting inter-religious discourses and the welfare of the Tibetan people.
“I am one of the admirers of late Mother Teresa. I have met her. I really admire her work and her spirit,” said Dalai Lama.
He also welcomed the release of Myanmar pro-democracy leader Suu Kyi from prison in Yangon on November 13 after seven years of house arrest.
“A group of Nobel laureates visited Bangkok press for her release. I also joined with them. So, therefore naturally when I received the news of her release I was overjoyed,” he said. (ANI)
