India’s apex audit body CAG completes 150 years tomorrow

NEW DELHI - President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will on Tuesday release a commemorative postage stamp at the Vigyan Bhavan official convention centre here as India’s audit institution, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, completes 150 years of its existence.

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will release the Vision and Mission Statement of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department on the occasion.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Public Accounts Committee Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi will be the important speakers.

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Vinod Rai, will deliver the welcome address.

An exhibition depicting the rich heritage and historical background of the institution has been put up in the foyers of the Vigyan Bhavan. (ANI)
