Volcano evacuees in Indonesia demand ‘love making space’!

NEW YORK - You’d think that food, water and shelter were some of the important requests of evacuees who had to flee as the Indonesian volcano Merapi erupted recently, but that’s not the case.

A “chamber of love” was among the unusual requests demanded by some of the 300,000 evacuees still sheltering Thursday following the eruption two weeks ago.

Packed into football stadiums and halls since then, frustrated lovers asked officials to provide them with a private space to be intimate with their partners.

Newly-wed Ari Margareta, 18, told Indonesia’s The Republika newspaper that she had requested the “chamber of love” as “her biological needs were not being fulfilled,” reports the New York Post.

Some said that other randy locals were resorting to desperate measures, risking their lives traveling through the 12-mile exclusion zone around Mount Merapi to their houses to enjoy some home comforts.

The fourth floor of a giant stadium was suggested as the perfect location for the chamber, which has precedence, with a similar amenity provided for those fleeing an earthquake on the Indonesian island of Java in 2006. (ANI)
