KARACHI - At least five Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed, three injured and one missing in the ghastly incident of firing and the powerful explosion at the Crime Investigation Department building in Karachi, which rocked almost half of the metropolis.
The Medical Officer of FC told Geo News that as many as eleven FC personnel were on duty at the main gate of CID building at the time of the firing and the blast.
He informed that five soldiers lost their lives in the Thursday night explosion, while one FC official was still missing.
He said that one injured personnel was receiving treatment at JPMC while the other two were admitted to PNS Shifa Hospital, adding that most of the martyred and wounded FC personnel belonged to Orakzai Agency.
Earlier, the biggest incident of terrorist attacks in the history of Karachi occurred last night as the CID building was targeted by unidentified miscreants, who traded gunfire with police and FC officials outside the building in the Civil Lines, and subsequently set off an explosive-laden truck within the building premises after breaking through its defence line.
At least 13 persons were killed and dozens sustained injuries, while the building was completely destroyed in the explosion. (ANI)
