Govt. offers special facilities to women personnel in BSF

NEW DELHI - Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Maken on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha about the various facilities being provided to the women personnel serving in the Border Security Force (BSF).

Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Maken in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday said the facilities include attending their problems through personal interviews, Sainik Sammelan and time to time interactions, Detailment of Lady Medical Officer/Lady Ministerial staff as nodal officers to address their grievances, grant of adequate leave and medical facilities with special care to pregnant women, convenient posting, wherever feasible.

The Minister further informed that in case of married women, generally husband and wife are posted at the same station in the Force, assignment of comparatively lighter duties while posted in the field units, provision of barracks with attached toilets in Border Out Posts, etc.

He informed that all women employees in Border Security Force are self- dependent. However, they are imparted specialized training to enhance their physical capacity and self esteem.

Besides, special Committees are formed to prevent sexual abuse at work place, Ajay Maken said in his written reply. (ANI)
