‘Tuticorin Port Trust’ lacks passport reading machines

NEW DELHI - Despite being an important link between India and Sri Lanka, the ‘Tuticorin Port Trust’ lacks passport reading machines.

The Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Tuticorin Port Trust has in a letter to the Assistant Director of Bureau of Immigration said that ferry services between Tuticorin and Colombo are likely to commence from Tuticorin Port soon and in therefore passport reading machines are required urgently.

He said eight passport reading machines with BOI 2/3 line reader and eight passport reading machines with BOI E-chip readers were required.

“Kindly furnish your valuable advise for procuring an installation of passport reading machine at New Passport Terminal for Immigration Section,” the letter from Chief Mechanical Engineer states. (ANI)
