Bodoland militant arrested in Bangalore

BANGALORE - Bangalore police on Friday arrested a National Democratic Front of Bodoland leader along with four associates.

The National Democratic Front of Bodoland is a militant group in Assam.

The accused were apprehended from Whitefield area after specific information was received from intelligence agencies.

“Yesterday, our Whitefield police on the basis of inputs received from central intelligence agencies had apprehended five persons,” said Shankar Bidari, Commissioner of Police, Bangalore.

Police said that four out of the five arrested were in the wanted list in Assam. They are yet to ascertain the identity of the fifth person.

“Yesterday night, I got a call from the Assam Additional Director General of Police, (Law and Order), Mr. Mishra, and he has confirmed that four of the arrested persons are wanted by Assam Police,” said Bidari. (ANI)
