MELBOURNE - Yes, the world is very small. At least for two ladies who met in a New Zealand bar and got into a scuffle on discovering that they had same dress gifted to them by the same man.

22-year-old-Victoria Clapham was wearing a silver dress, given to her by a friend, Matthew Vibert, when she went to a bar in Wellington last year, Wellington District Court heard.

But she was unaware that her friend had previously given the same dress to another woman.

The Dominion Post reported that the garment’s first owner, Vibert’s ex-girlfriend Bridget Masters, was also at the bar and sparked flew when they met in the toilets.

Clapham told the court that Masters was first to throw a drink and she retaliated by chucking her vodka on the 20-year-old woman.

The catfight escalated when Masters allegedly smashed her tall glass on Clapham’s head, which wounded her face and chest as bad that she needed stitches, the courts heard.

Masters has pleaded not guilty to injuring with intent to wound.

Her lawyer told the court Masters had been defending herself when she instinctively threw up her hand holding the glass in reaction to a punch from Clapham, reports the Herald Sun.

The trial is still under the proceedings in the court. (ANI)
