Centre holds consultation with state governments on emigration management

NEW DELHI - The Government is keen on active partnership with the State governments to provide support and facilities to overseas Indians, said Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vyalar Ravi here on Thursday.
Addressing the third Consultation meeting with State Governments on Emigration Management in New Delhi on Thursday, Ravi said the suggestions of the state governments will be taken into account to facilitate emigration of Indians seeking employment overseas.
The establishment of Pravasi Bharatiya Bhawans in all the major labour sending States is being discussed during the deliberations. They include setting up of Migrant Resource Centres for dissemination of information about legal migration, overseas job opportunities and counseling of emigrant workers.
Creation of nodal departments for welfare of Overseas Indians by the States is also on the agenda.
Officials from State Governments and Union Ministries are attending the two-day meeting. (ANI)
