Cash scandal rocks Bihar before Sonia Gandhi’s rally

BEGUSARAI - Ahead of Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s rally here to woo the voters for the ongoing State Assembly elections, cash scandal rocks Bihar as two Congress leaders have been detained after the police found Rs 6.40 lakh from their respective hotel rooms.
Police with the local administration had raided the room of Bihar Youth Congress President Lalan Kumar and Congress Youth Leader Sagar Raika early this morning, when they recovered Rs 6.40 lakh from the hotel rooms.
The Congress leaders have, however, claimed that it was the party money, which was to be spent for the party elections.
Sonia Gandhi is also expected to address a rally in Bihar’s Bhagalpur District.
Meanwhile, voting in the third phase of State Assembly elections in Bihar got underway from 7 a.m. this morning, and it is expected that over ten million voters will exercise their franchise to elect candidates to 48 constituencies. (ANI)
