A two-day workshop on Innovative Ecosystem held in New Delhi

NEW DELHI - The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) under the aegis of India-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) on Thursday organized a two-day long workshop on Innovative Ecosystem in New Delhi.
Distinguished Scientist and Chief Controller R and D (Aeronautics and Services Interaction) Dr. Prahlada inaugurated the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop is to generate first level champions for innovation across DRDO. So, that they can spread the culture within DRDO as well as with the partner institutions.
The champions are handpicked across major laboratories and varied disciplines and background.
Lockheed Martin Corporation (LM) is one of the participants in this Innovation Ecosystem Workshop.
Lockheed Martin Corporation Vice President, Jennifer Byrne, leads the US team of speakers and resource persons.
Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, Executive Director, Dr. Arabinda Mitra, has been actively involved with the Innovation Initiative and has provided necessary support in organising the workshop.
LM corporation in partnership with Department of Science and Technology (DST), FICCI and IUSSTF has already been involved in implementing the India Innovation Growth Program in India.
The speakers from US and India are drawn from various fields such as industry, academia, business associations and government officials.
The workshop will address elements of and models for successful innovation ecosystems through sessions on culture of innovation, diversity in perspective, encouragement of creativity and tolerance threshold for risk-taking.
DRDO has been intensely interacting with Industry, academics and many other Science and Technology departments to design, develop, test and produce large varieties of Defence systems in order to raise its level of performance and delivery, not only within DRDO, but its partners.
DRDO is actively involved in pushing innovation in the laboratories, operations and management. (ANI)
