Youths participate in Nagaland integration camp

DIMAPUR - Hundreds of youths from districts across India are participating in a national integration camp here.
The camp kicked off on October 22 and ends on October 29.
Youths from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland are taking part in the program organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), an NGO.
“The motive of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) is to involve people from different states and work together, to give them right direction. These camps would help in the progress and growth of people,” said Jiten Pratap Singh, a participant from Uttar Pradesh.
The youths said they felt the importance of sharing culture, traditions and brotherhood among the people of the nation.
“It’s a great achievement for all of us that India is a country of love and brotherhood. Youths from various states like, Assam, Manipur, and other states like Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland have organized this camp, which helps in inculcating the feeling of mutual brotherhood among the people of different states. I wish peace and harmony prevails in the country. The customs, traditions, rituals and languages are different but we are together, and would always want our country to grow,” said Uttam Kumar Sharma, a participant of Jaipur.
John Makhabo, the District Youth Coordinator of NYK Tuensang was of the view that efforts should be made to combat the decisive forces to ensure security, unity and integrity of the nation.
“The main purpose of this National Integration Camp is to bring, from various parts of the country, young boys and girls and make them exchange their culture, their traditions, their languages, and lend each other’s lifestyle and food habits, etc,” said Makhabo.
Cultural and folkdance performances from participating states were the main highlight of the camp.
Other highlights of the weeklong integration camp will be interactive sessions, workshops and seminars.
A symposium and panel discussions on different issues by various resources persons will also be held in the camp. (ANI)
