WASHINGTON - Al-Qaeda has released a 40-minute call-to-arms video, which asks followers to individually stage attacks in Europe and the United States.

Al-Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn posted the video on Sunday.

Gadahn urged Muslims living “in the miserable suburbs of Paris, London and Detroit” to stage religiously motivated attacks on targets in Europe and the United States.

“It is the duty of everyone who is sincere in his desire to defend Islam and Muslims today, to take the initiative to perform the individual obligation of jihad,” Fox News quoted Gadahn, as saying in Arabic in the video.

The video has been strongly condemned by Muslim leaders in the US, including Detroit Director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee Imad Hamad.

“It makes us stronger, it makes us more united. We all have a responsibility to be vigilant and not take anything for granted when it comes to our safety and security,” Hamad said.

“It’s a war between the evil and the good. I think we are on the good side, so far I think we are winning our fight against terrorism,” he added. (ANI)
