J-K interlocutors visit separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah’s home

SRINAGAR - The three-member team of the Central government appointed interlocutors on Jammu and Kashmir today met the ailing mother of jailed separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah at latter’s residence in Srinagar.
Head of the interlocutors’ team Dileep Padgaonkar told reporters that the visit was a courtesy call, as Shah was known to him since long.
Shabir Ahmad Shah ’s wife Dr. Bilqees chose to draw the visiting team’s attention to the “frequent” arrest of her husband by the State authorities.
“I explained to them how he has been booked under Public Safety Act eight times in the past three years. I also gave them a copy of the conditional release order issued by the government for Shah’s release,” she said.
Bilqees said the interlocutors told her that they wanted to meet Shah at his residence and assured her that they would take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
The interlocutors are scheduled to interact with students later on Monday.
The panel also that comprises Dr. Radha Kumar and M M Ansari, besides Dileep Padgaonkar, is also scheduled to meet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over lunch. (ANI)
