SRINAGAR - The three interlocutors appointed by the Central Government to seek out various shades of opinion in Jammu and Kashmir, are scheduled to meet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and a cross section of people on Monday.

Senior journalist Dileep Padgaonkar, academician Radha Kumar and Central Information Commissioner M. M. Ansari arrived in Srinagar on Saturday.

The Hurriyat Conference on Sunday decided not to meet the three-member visiting team of interlocutors appointed by the Central Government to take various shades of opinion in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking during a news conference, Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, termed the setting up of this committee as “a step of lingering the Kashmir issue,” but said Hurriyat Conference was not against the dialogue process.

The interlocutors met journalists in the city and visited the central jail in Srinagar and spoke to the inmates. (ANI)
