NEW DELHI - Fashion designer Pillai Mohan showcased her latest summer collection for kids on the first day of the Wills India Fashion Week here over the weekend.
She said her aim has been to make the buyers conscious about the growth of designer kids’ wear market.
“I want to introduce, I mean, I wanted people to know that I am doing kids wear line and that designer kids wear do exist. Normally yes I know that kids don’t really walk the ramp but I wanted people to get conscious of the fact that you can really buy designer wear kids,” said Pallavi.
The collection titled ‘A Pocketful of Posies’ had girly colours like white, pink, peach, yellow, blue and grey.
The collection also included maxi dresses, some with classic chikankari embroidery. The drapes with structured frills were put together in a feminine manner.
Pallavi said while her label for adults is called ‘Not So Serious’, she plans to name her label for kids as ‘So Serious’ to mean designing kids’ wear is no child’s play.
“Well, I wanted to make serious products, serious quality stuff but when I really started it, it was all about fun and now it’s got really serious and not so serious. And hopefully the kids wear line is going to be called So Serious. So, the adult line is going to be called ‘Not So Serious’ and the junior line is going to be called So Serious,” said Pallavi.
