US man slept with decomposed corpse for 2 days

MELBOURNE - A 31-year-old man from the US slept with a rotting corpse of a woman for two days after strangling her to death.
Michael Lenahan has been sentenced to 19 years behind bars for the murder of 24-year-old Lorna Santiago in the Confucius Plaza apartment in Manhattan he shared with his ailing grandmother.
“I’m far from a perfect person, but I am a good person. I am extremely sorry and extremely remorseful for what happened,” News.com.au quoted the coke-addicted Michael as telling Charles Solomon, Manhattan Supreme Court justice.
Prosecutors say that after murdering Santiago, Lenahan spent two days surfing websites that dealt with sadomasochism and how to preserve dead bodies - and buying alcohol on her credit card.
The murder left Santiago’s parents to literally ‘wither away,’ said her only sibling, Rick, 36.
“They are now resigned to perpetual sorrow,” he said, calling Lenahan, “A remorseless and soulless killer.” (ANI)
