Italian town considering ban of miniskirts, low-cut tops for clean image

MELBOURNE - Officials at a seaside town in Italy have, in an effort to clean up the raunchy image of the place, threatened to ban miniskirts and low-cut tops.
The locals of Castellammare di Stabia would also be barred from using blasphemous language and playing soccer in public parks, and offenders would face fines of up to 696 dollars if they defy the proposed rules.
According to a foreign news agency, the new laws are being pushed forward by Luigi Bobbio, who is the centre-right mayor of Castellammare di Stabia.
Bobbio will ask council members in the seaside town, close to Naples, southern Italy, to vote though a raft of measures designed to “restore urban decorum and facilitate better civil co-existence”.
“I think it’s the right decision. It’s also a way of combating the rise in sexual harassment,” News.com.au quoted Don Paolo Cecere as telling the Cronache di Napoli daily newspaper. (ANI)
