Bhutan King to arrive in India on 9-day visit on Wednesday

NEW DELHI - The King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, will arrive here on Wednesday on a nine-day State visit to India.

During his stay in the country between October 20 to 29, the Bhutan King is scheduled will hold meeting with various senior political leaders including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and President Pratibha Patil.

The Bhutan King is scheduled to visit a number of places and attend programmes during his nine-day stay in the country.

On Wednesday, the King will arrive at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal- III at 10.15 a.m. through Druk Air Flight KB 204.

Two hours later, the King is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at his residence 7, Race Course Road.

External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna will call on the visiting Bhutan King at Taj Mahal hotel in the evening.

Later, Minister for Finance Pranab Mukherjee will call on the King.

On Thursday (Oct.21), the King will attend an inaugural Session of the NDC Golden Jubilee Celebrations, at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt. in the morning.

During afternoon, the Indian Chief of Army Staff Vijay Kumar Singh will call on the Bhutan King at the Taj Mahal hotel.

Minister for Home Affairs P.Chidambaram will call on the King at the hotel at 4.30 p.m.

Later in the evening, the Bhutan King will inaugurate ‘IIC Experience” at IIC, Lodhi Estate.

He will also attend NDC cultural programme at the Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt. later in the evening.

On Friday, the Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will call on President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He is also scheduled to attend a valedictory session at NDC, Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt. at 4.00 p.m..

On Saturday (Oct.23), the Bhutan King will visit Dehradun for which he will leave at 9.15 a.m. and attend a programme there.

On Sunday, the King will return to Delhi at 9.50 a.m.

On Monday, the Bhutan King will visit Jaipur city of Rajasthan. e will also visit Ranthambore National Park.

On Tuesday, the visiting King is scheduled to attend a private programme.

The Bhutan King will return to New Delhi on Wednesday and hold a meeting with United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at 4.30 p.m. at 10, Janpath.

On Thursday, the King will attend a programme in the capital.

The Bhutan King will emplane for Paro at 11.15 a.m. on Friday, the last day of his State visit to India. (ANI)
