Brit woman finds engagement ring lost for 17 years under pile of garbage

MELBOURNE - A woman who had lost her engagement ring 17 years ago found it in a council clean-up.
Nerida Lamphee was reunited with her lost ring thanks to a court-enforced council clean up at the home of a renowned hoarder, reports News.com.au.
Lamphee was just 19 when her beau proposed with the ring. But she was heartbroken years later when it, along with her purse, disappeared on a night out at a Surry Hills hotel in 1993.
Then years later Sydney City Council specialist health surveyor Andrew McMillan found a dirty brown purse in which were Lamphee’s ring and her old driver’s licence.
“It was like finding a needle in a haystack,” McMillan said.
Lamphee wept with joy when she was given her ring back.
She said, “I thought it was gone for good.”
The purse also contained photographs of Lamphee’s sons. (ANI)
