Life normal in Kashmir Valley

SRINAGAR - Life returned to normalcy for a day Thursday in the Kashmir Valley Thursday with the separatists asking people to resume regular activities.
Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani made the appeal as part of his groups ‘Quit Kashmir’ campaign that has paralysed life in the valley for over four months.
Shops, educational institutions, banks, post offices and businesses were open. Public transport plied normally.
The scenario was radically different a day earlier when Gilani had called a strike. The call was widely obeyed.
Separatist shutdowns have crippled the valley since street unrest and clashes between civilians and security forces began in June, leaving more than 100 people dead.
