Jharkhand police arrest top Maoist leader in Simdega Distrcit

SIMDEGA - A Special Squad of Jharkhand police arrested top Maoist leader and his assistant from the forest area near Jampani village in Jharkhand’s Simdega district on Wednesday.
Ashok alias Oliver Khadiya, the arrested rebel, was a former zonal commander of a Maoist outfit and was currently running his own guerrilla force in the Maoist-infested regions of the state.
Ashok and his aide Munna Urav were arrested from the forest area during a search operation after police received information that the ultras are planning an attack.
The arrested rebel was wanted in many criminal cases including kidnapping and extortion.
Police also recovered arms and ammunitions from them including a regular carbine, 9 mm pistol, 27 bullets, around 26,000 rupees in cash, mobile sets and SIM cards. (ANI)
