Three injured in Meghalaya blast

TURA - Three people were critically injured in a bomb explosion at a crowded market in Tura in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district Saturday evening, police said.

“The blast took place at 6.45 p.m. It was a crude bomb. We are yet to find out how the explosion took place,” Additional Director General (Law and Order) Rajiv Mehta told IANS.

The injured were rushed to Tura Civil Hospital and their condition is stated to be serious.

It was not yet known who might be behind the blast, a senior police official said.
