Snoring killing Oz women’s sex lives

WELLINGTON - Sleeping with a snoring husband wipes off sex from the minds of Aussie women, who say that their partners’ night time wheezing, gasping and snorting is choking their love lives.
And the noise is often so offensive that they would rather listen to possums mate.
Trying to nod off to the sound of a dripping tap or construction work would also be less irritating than hubby’s bedtime splutters, wives and girlfriends say.
Their complaints were captured in a national survey commissioned by Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, which quizzed 500 women across the nation who sleep alongside snorers.
The results are likely to have men running to the doctor to find a remedy, reports stuff.co.nz.
Fifty per cent of respondents said snoring had damaged their romantic relationship, while 40 per cent admitted to sleeping in a different room to spare themselves the torture.
Over 30 per cent said their partner’s snoring caused arguments and six per cent revealed it contributed to a relationship break-up.
And there are also physical side-effects-50 per cent of women said they were woken up at least once a night by their lover’s snoring, with 15 per cent of them reporting being woken up a number of times.
But despite 79 per cent admitting resorting to violence by kicking or elbowing their breathless bedfellows, only 13 per cent of respondents made their partner seek help from a doctor.
Fewer (nine per cent) reported their man had visited a sleep clinic.
The women, aged between 18 and 65, said in the July survey they were so annoyed by the condition they’d rather sleep to the sound of a dripping tap (50 per cent), mating possums (23 per cent) or neighbourhood construction (22 per cent). (ANI)
