LAHORE - Enraged by former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf’s remarks against their leader Nawaz Sharif, four Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) female legislators hurled shoes at a picture of the APML founder, and later burnt the same picture in the premises of the Punjab Assembly building.
Taiba Zameer, Nasim Khawaja, Safder Anjum and Dr Zumurad Yasmin Rana gathered at the entrance of the Punjab Assembly before the start of the session and started thrashing Musharraf’s poster with their shoes, the Daily Times reported.
They alleged that the former military ruler had handed over Dr Aafia Siddiqui to the US in exchange for dollars, and that he had killed dozens of religious students in the Lal Masjid military operation.
The lady legislators also blamed Musharraf for the murder of Akbar Bugti, adding that the nation would avenge all these acts.
Chanting slogans against Musharraf, they also held him responsible for the recent load shedding and inflation.
It is worth mentioning that during the PA session, PPP parliamentary leader Raja Riaz also expressed his anger against Musharraf, declaring that the 67-year old would not come back to Pakistan and his party’s government would continue in the centre. (ANI)
