Gujarat villagers worried due to consistent tremors

JUNAGARH - The consistent tremors being felt for over last two weeks in Jalandhar Village of Gujarat’s Junagarh district have made the residents worried.

The local resident are so scared wit the tremors that have stopped living inside their houses here.

“Since yesterday, the frequency of tremors has increased again. We hear loud noises. The magnitude of the earthquake is about three to four on the Richter Scale. The tremors were felt for the whole day yesterday, and the village has been destroyed,” said Ashok Dave, a resident of Jalandhar village on Wednesday.

According to Junagarh’s District Collector Shirvad Parmar, the administration has given essential training to the villagers so that they can save their lives in case there is a earthquake.

“We have made earthquake resistant buildings in the village. We have also provided essential training in advance to the villagers, so that they are aware of all the precautionary measures that can be taken if the earthquake hits the village so that less damage happens. We have provided all the information to the villagers and have also appointed an administration for it,” said Parmar.

Recently a 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit Gujarat’s Patan District on September 2.
