By ANITuesday, October 5, 2010
WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama remains the preference of young voters, according to a new Gallup poll.
Fifty-seven percent of 18-to-29-year-olds support Obama, reports Politico.
According to the poll, 91 percent of African-Americans approve of Obama, as do 79 percent of self-identified Democrats and 75 percent of liberals.
A majority of Hispanics, self-identified moderates and those with a postgraduate degree also approve of the president.
Obama’s overall average approval rating stood at 45 percent in September’s daily tracking polls.
Only 36 percent of whites and 38 percent of seniors approve of the president.
The data are based on an average of all of Gallup’s daily presidential tracking polls in the month of September.
Overall, 15,200 adults were surveyed nationwide. The overall survey sample has a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point. (ANI)
