Prince Charles, wife Camilla to visit Patiala, Chandigarh on Monday

NEW DELHI - The heir to British throne Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall, are scheduled to visit Chandigarh on Monday on a day visit to Patiala and Chandigarh.
A day after inaugurating the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, the royal couple would spend the day meeting students and entrepreneurs.
The couple is schedule to have dinner with former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh at the New Moti Bagh Palace in Patiala.
They would also visit an organic farm at Hansali village in Fatehgarh Sahib before having dinner with the former Chief Minister.
Charles is scheduled to meet entrepreneurs from the Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust, modelled on the Prince of Wales Youth Business International that provides capital and business mentoring to unemployed youth.
Prince Charles is also scheduled to join a discussion amongst policy makers, architects, realtors and academics on how to manage urban environments in a way that promotes efficient use of resources and build social capital at the Punjab Energy Development Agency.
Meanwhile, the Duchess will visit a local school where she will interact with students and the Society for Rehabilitation of Mentally Challenged.
According to the police, security has been beefed up at the places where the royal couple is scheduled to visit.
Meanwhile, President Pratibha Patil will be visiting the city on Tuesday and stay overnight before attending a function at Amritsar on Wednesday. (ANI)
