WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama has met Sarah Shourd, the American hiker who was detained for more than a year in Iran.

During the meeting, Obama also vowed to press for the release of two US men who are still under detention in Iran, The Telegraph reports.

Sarah Shourd, was one of three Americans arrested and imprisoned in Iran on espionage charges after violating its borders.

Shourd, 32, was released this month. She left the country on September 14 after being released on bail.

In a meeting with Miss Shourd, her mother and the mothers of the two hikers still detained in Iran, Obama stressed the administration would continue to do everything it could to secure their release, the White House said in a statement. (ANI)
