JAMMU - Following the Bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram’s eight point agenda on Kashmir issue, all business establishments and educational institutions remain closed and public transport off road on Thursday.
The BJP termed Home Minister’s eight point agenda as anti Jammu and alleged that the voices of nationalist and patriotic people of Jammu have been ignored by the Union and the State Government.
“P Chidambaram has given eight point formula which is unacceptable to the people of Jammu and people feel cheated. He has strengthened anti national and anti social elements and ignored the nationalist and patriotic people of Jammu,” said Rajinder Sharma BJP Leader.
“There was a movement in 2008 in which seventeen people have sacrificed their lives and we suffered a loss of 25,000 crores. But not a single word was said to make up for those losses,” he added.
He further said that people from Kashmir can understand that NC (National Conference) is anti Jammu but are unable to understand why Congress Ministers who are in power have kept a criminal silence. Stone pelters injured 4000 security personnel but the Government is mum on that issue as well. On all these issues Jammu people feel cheated and let down. By Tahir Nadeem Khan (ANI)
