Envoys of seven nations present credentials to President Patil

NEW DELHI - Envoys of seven different nations presented their credentials to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Wednesday.
The envoys who presented their credentials were: - Mohamed Elies Ben Marzouk, the Ambassador of Tunisia, Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, the Ambassador of Apostolic Nunciature (Holy See), Nguyen Thanh Tan, the Ambassador of Vietnam, Ousmane Tandia, the Ambassador of Mali, Cristian Barros Melet, the Ambassador of Chile, Dr. Sead Avdic, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Amadou Moustapha Diouf, the Ambassador of Senegal.
Welcoming the envoys, President Patil said India seeks to intensify its relations with all countries, in areas where there is scope for mutual co-operation, opportunities exist for trade and investment and for building people-to-people contacts to promote greater understanding.
“India’s economy is growing and the Government is committed to reaching the benefits of growth to all sections of society. India is also committed to sharing its experiences with the world as it deals with global challenges such as food security and climate change,” she added. (ANI)
