NSW workers spending less time at work than a decade ago

MELBOURNE - A new research has shown that New South Wales (NSW) workers spend less time in the office than a decade ago.
While full-timers older than 65 are working the longest hours of any age group at 44 hours a week, it’s Generation Y leading the way on the work-life balance.
NSW’s 3.5 million workers spend on average 41.7 hours a week earning a wage - higher than the national average of 41.4 hours a week, reports the Daily Telegraph.
And even though it might feel like we’re spending longer and longer in the office, the report shows that’s a cut of 1.4 hours a week from 2000 when NSW residents worked on average 43.1 hours a week.
Gen Y workers worked fewer hours than any other age group in the country at less than 40 hours a week.
West Australian full-timers were the hardest workers in the country, at an average of 42.2 hours per week. NSW residents came second.
The research has been mentioned in Bankwest’s Working Times Report. (ANI)
