Amritsar hosts Mohammad Rafi Award Night

AMRITSAR - Mohammad Rafi Memorial Society organised an award night in remembrance of the singing legend, six awards were presented on the occasion.
Tarlochan Singh, a play back singer and President of Mohammad Rafi Memorial Society said on the occasion:
“Today, Mohammad Rafi Memorial Society has organised an award ceremony function. Here, we are honouring various singers and artists in which Hardeep has been awarded for Best Folk Singing, Amardeep for the best lyrics, Kanth Kaler as the best Punjabi singer, Roshan Singh as the best pop singer, Raja Sagoo as the best comedian and Jaswant Singh as the best promoter of culture,” said Tarlochan Singh.
The singers were glad to receive the awards.
“I am very happy to be specially honoured by the Mohammad Rafi Memorial Society. We are new comers in the singing field and we have not achieved much, yet they have honoured us. Amritsar city has produced many artists and we are also happy to be honoured in Amritsar,” said Kaler.
On this day, the society organises a function every year to give away awards to promising Hindi and Punjabi singers. Eminent singers enthralled the audience with their performance. (ANI)
