SRINAGAR - The Jammu and Kashmir Youth Development Forum on Saturday expressed hope that better sense will prevail upon separatists and the government so that normalcy returns to the valley soon.

“More than 100 people have been killed, hundreds of people including policemen and CRPF troopers injured, hundreds of vehicles, buildings torched, wind screens of thousands of vehicles smashed by stone pelters, children denied education, businessmen denied to earn, transporters can’t pay loan installments. Kashmir has come to a virtual standstill in the last four months,” said Youth Development Forum spokesperson in a statement today.

“Students have suffered enormously. We appeal to all the stakeholders to come forward and save the future of students,” he said adding: “Ilm se badh kar koi azadi nahi, jahalat se badh kar koi burai nahi.”

He appealed separatists and government to allow at least children to go to schools. “Future of our next generation is at stake. Already we have lost much time.”

Meanwhile, the YDF welcomed the recent visit of All Party Delegation to Kashmir. “APD in utmost humility and their devotion for humanity visited Kashmir and interacted with the victims of violence. They displayed great sense of responsibility.”

“Despite arrogant behavior of separatists, the APD members made it a point to talk to them. It shows how great democracy India is,” the statement further added(ANI)
