MUMBAI - Nitesh Rane, owner of the Mumbai-based NGO Swabhiman Sangathana Organization, and son of Maharashtra’s Revenue Minister, Narayne Rane, fired at his own employee Chintu Shaikh here recently.
The incident took place on Thursday when Shaikh had gone to visit Rane.
Rane shot at Shaikh and the bullet grazed his face. Shaikh later got admitted himself to a local hospital for treatment.
Mazar Jamaluddin Shaikh, father of Chintu Shaikh, recounted the incident and said:
“Nitesh Rane lifted up his revolver and fired from the revolver and because of the firing, he missed the bullet. Nitesh Rane actually targeted the revolver on his head but Chintu somehow managed to slam his side, and again when he fired the bullet, it brushed his face and passed on. Otherwise his intention was to kill him,” said Mazar Jamaluddin Shaikh.
Rane’s brother, Nilesh Rane, refuted the allegation and said that it was a political conspiracy against Rane to malign his and his family’s image.
“This is a political conspiracy to malign his image and this is all a conspiracy. Nothing has happened like that. Investigations are on and after investigation you will come to know who is right or wrong, and after the inquiry you will be well informed,” said Nilesh Rane.
Meanwhile, Shaikh’s wife recounted that Nitesh Rane had started abusing Shaikh when he entered the premises.
“He just told me that that when he entered the office, Nitesh Rane started abusing him and directly attacked him, and he himself doesn’t know what is the reason behind this,” said Simran Shaikh.
Investigations are under way to ascertain the reason for the altercation.
