NEW DELHI - The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) is expected to announce its seat-sharing agreement on Sunday for the upcoming elections in Bihar for 243 assembly seats.
Earlier on Saturday, JD-U chief Sharad Yadav said the party will take a final decision on seat sharing by September 19.
“Elections are to be held in Bihar. Talks are in progress between the two parties in matter of seat sharing and we would have the results by tomorrow,” said Yadav, after launching a new-look party website at a function here.
“The party is ready for the elections and arrangement of all sorts, some of which have been done and the rest would be done in the next two three days,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is in disarray ahead of the polls.
“One thing is for sure, the way there is a chaos in RJD and with everybody deserting it, it represents in the eyes of the people of Bihar that the truth that has come out and no matter how hard they try people are now aware of their true face,” said Kumar, while addressing the media persons in Patna on Saturday.
