“Batman” says only Democrat AG can keep Gotham city safe from crime!

GOTHAM - The star of the 1960s “Batman” TV series, Adam West, reportedly lent his voice to automated phone calls urging the voters of Gotham city to vote for his friend, prosecutor-turned-trial-attorney Sean Coffey for the post of Attorney General.

According to The New York Post, the actor famous for his cheesy, melodramatic delivery and lumpy physique channelled his classic role as the Dark Knight to assure Democrats that Coffey is the “best crime fighter” in the crowded five-way race.

“I know a thing or two about keeping Gotham City safe. Sean is an independent voice who wants to fight those villains in Albany,” West told voters in a 45-second recorded message.

“I came to the conclusion Sean Coffey’s not only a good guy, but a clear thinker. I’ve been a pretend crime-fighter for years. Now, we’ve got a potential real one with him,” he added.

His support came at a time when voters prepared to narrow the field in key statewide races and numerous congressional and state Legislature posts.

The Democratic primary for attorney general was the hottest contest, with Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice and Senator Eric Schneiderman (D-Manhattan) being backed by celebrities as the race drew to a close.

John Slattery, who plays Roger Sterling, in the acclaimed show “Mad Men,” made a video endorsement on the Internet for his college friend, Kathleen M. Rice, the Nassau County district attorney, for attorney general. (ANI)
