Hindus want European Union to defend Roma
By ANIMonday, September 13, 2010
NEVADA - Hindus are asking European Union to come to the defense of helpless European Roma (Gypsy) when various countries of Europe were expelling them and dismantling their settlements.
Eminent Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that “Decade of Roma Inclusion”, launched with big fanfare in 2005, had failed to deliver any solid results, and Roma reportedly continued being used as scapegoat for failures of societies and economies of various countries of Europe.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that France and Italy stubbornly continued to demolish Roma campsites and deporting Roma in clear view of European and world authorities. Other European countries like Denmark, Germany, Austria, and Sweden had also reportedly deported Roma in the past without any apparent repercussions.
Religions would consider the apartheid faced by Roma people of Europe as sin. Why the Europe still allowing this immoral and ungodly practice of apartheid, Rajan Zed asked. (ANI)
