Five CPI-M supporters shot dead in West Bengal

WEST MIDNAPORE - West Bengal Police on Monday said the Maoists shot dead five Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) supporters at Nachupatina village in West Midnapore District.

It has been reported that a large group of Maoists descended on Nachupatina village’s Dompara area late on Sunday night and exploded bombs before firing in the air to terrorise the villagers.

The Maoist guerrillas later entered the house of CPI-M) supporter Amrit Aagyuan and forcibly took him away.

They later went to the house of Aagyuan’s relatives and forced Rohin Aagyun, Samaresh Aagyuan, Swapan Aagyuan and Prasanta Aagyuan to come outside.

The Maoists shot dead all the five persons and later left behind some Maoist posters before leaving the spot.

The Joint Security Forces and additional police reinforcements have been rushed to the village, and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the ultras.(ANI)
