Curfew continues in parts of Kashmir valley due to stone pelting incidents

SRINAGAR - Curfew was clamped in different parts of the Kashmir valley after various incidents of stone-pelting were reported on Monday.
“Curfew has been clamped in Srinagar city, Hyderpora to Budgam, Anantnag ,Bijbehara, Pulwama town,Awantipora Lethpora, Pampore, Sopore town, and Bandipora town,” said an official release.
Miscreants resorted to stone pelting at Sabzi Mandi-Soura, Srinagar, on security forces deployment, who were chased away.
However, the situation was reported to be under control in the evening.
However, in Tangmarg, some miscreants set on fire a missionary school.
In Machow-Chadoora-Budgam, a violent mob resorted to heavy stone pelting on security personnel, which was still going on till last reports arrived.
In a similar incident at Gogo-Humhama, a large mob started heavy stone pelting on a security forces camp.
Police had to be use tear smoke shells to disperse the mob. (ANI)
