Holly Washa Murderer Executed

WALLA WALLA (GaeaTimes.com)- It was the first execution in Washington after nine years. The convicted killer Cal Brown was executed last Friday by lethal injection for rape, torture and murder of Seattle woman, Holly Washa. The Washington State Department of Corrections released a statement yesterday where it was maintained that the execution of Cal Brown was carried out at 12:56 am at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla.
The convict Cal Brown spend more than 16 years in death row and during his trial he repeatedly said that the reason for his murder is his mental problem. Cal Brown was convicted of rape and first degree murder of Holly Washa. However, his reasons could not convince the the judges and he was given death sentence. The police said that Cal Brown abducted Holly Washa at a highway near Seattle. He then tortured and raped her at a motel for two days. After that he flew down to California and then arrested by the police after he assaulted another woman.
When the police interrogated him, he confessed that he killed Holly Washa and led the officials to Holly Washa’s battered body, which was inside trunk of a car. The decision of Cal Brown’s execution by Washington Supreme Court was even supported by Governor Gregoire. A reputed media source reported that only press and members of Holly Washa’s family were allowed into the execution viewing room. Even the country prosecutor Dan Satterberg said in one of his statements that the death penalty was reserved for “worst of the worst” and Cal Brown qualified all the criteria. Cal Brown’s last meal request was pizza, apple pie and root beer. However, later he changed his mind and had coffee and milk as beverage.
