Naxals kill one person in Gaya

GAYA - Continuing their atrocities on the poor and the helpless, a group of Naxals killed a person in Gaya district on Bihar.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, when a group of Maoist abducted Sanjay Prasad Kumar, a resident of Sidhouti village, and later killed him
Kumar’s dead body was found a road near the village.
“Sanjay Prasad Kumar of village Sidhauta was kidnapped and killed by the Naxals at 10 at night. We got the information that he has been killed,” said Ratan Thakur, the Station House Officer of Dumuriya police station.
The incident turned the villagers furious and they blocked the Dumaria-Imamganj road for several hours. They also demanded adequate compensation for Kumar’s family.
“His family should be paid Rs 10 lakhs and the children should be given some jobs. Their education should also be taken care of,” said Satish Kumar Mahato, the younger brother of Sanjay Kumar.
Naxals had threatened Kumar, as they viewed him to be police informant.
Villagers, however, maintained that Kumar was a mere jeep driver at the Dumuriya police station.
Naxals have a strong hold over the entire area. They have attacked the Dumuriya police station many times. (ANI)
