MELBOURNE - Six elite Queensland police officers, who were caught taking an off-duty nude romp on a public road, have been disciplined.
The officers, from the special emergency response team, were travelling back from a bucks’ party in suburban Brisbane in September last year when they stopped at an intersection.
Five of them were seen running naked around their police mini bus at the intersection of Redland Bay and Moreton Bay roads at Capalaba, while the sixth officer drove.
A Queensland police statement said the six officers have received internal sanctions and they have 14 days to appeal.
Deputy Commissioner Ian Stewart delivered his decision on September 7 to legal representatives of the officers.
“These officers will now return to operational duties. A decision on whether they are suitable to return to the special emergency response team is expected in the coming weeks,” the Daily Telegraph quoted the statement as reading.
The statement added the disciplinary decision had been delayed until all related court matters had been finalised.
Four of the officers were each fined 300 dollars for the stunt in the Cleveland Magistrates Court in March, after pleading guilty. (ANI)
