Papaya shaped Lord Ganesha attracts Bhubaneswar devotees

BHUBANESWAR - A papaya tree grown in the premises of the rural water supply and sanitation department office in Orissa’s Bhubaneswar city, is attracting the religious minded here, as it has reportedly borne a fruit in the shape of Lord Ganesha.
With the festival ofr Ganesha Chaturthi approaching, the emergence of a fruit in this shape, is drawing wide attention, and a large number of believers are converging at the spot to have a glimpse and seek blessings.
“Many devotees have gathered here. We saw that a figure of Lord Ganesha has come out on a papaya. Many people are coming to worship it. I felt good on seeing it,” said Shambunath Aggarwal, a devotee.
Rural water supply and sanitation department officials expressed their delight over people visiting their premises to see the “Papaya Ganesh”.
“We all are very happy because a papaya in the shape of Lord Ganesha has grown on our office boundary. We are not the only ones worshipping it; even the local residents are coming to worship it. Everyone believes it is Lord Ganesha,” said Manju Sahel, a junior engineer with the department.
Meanwhile, the gardener who planted this tree said he had never seen such a miracle. By Sarada Lahangir (ANI)
