Riverbank land erosion leaves people homeless in Uttar Pradesh

KOUSHAMBHI - Erosion of low-lying areas bordering the River Yamuna and the River Ganges in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambhi District, has left many families homeless.

The local administration has shifted nearly 40 affected families to a primary school.

“The villages are badly affected due to floods. We have immediately shifted 40 families of affected village in the school. Every one has been provided with the basic requirements,” claimed Lokesh M, District Magistrate, of Koushambhi District.

The flood-affected families have been given rupees 1,000 from the Natural Calamity Relief Fund. By Virender Pathak (ANI)
