President Patil gives away national awards to MSMEs

NEW DELHI - President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Tuesday gave away the National Awards to excellent performers among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, primary co-operative societies and Apex Coir federation.

This year’s national awardees include 99 MSME sector units, 47 khadi and village industries and 19 coir industries in different categories, besides six banks. he national awards were instituted in 1983 with a view to recognize the efforts and contribution of MSMEs. The national awards are given annually to the successful entrepreneurs, enterprises and banks.

The awards are given to MSME for outstanding performance in entrepreneurship, research and development and quality, to honour one outstanding woman entrepreneur, one outstanding entrepreneur from SC/ST community and one entrepreneur from the north east. (ANI)
