Levi Johnston’s first stop on Wasilla mayor campaign

WASHINGTON - Levi Johnston made his first official stop on his campaign for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska at the Chimo Guns shop in his hometown, it has been reported.

The father of Bristol Palin’s 20 month-old-son filed a letter of intent with the Alaska Public Offices Commission, allowing him to appear on the ballot in October 2011 at the earliest, according to ABC News.

Johnston, 20, then moved on to the gun shop. There, reports TMZ, he looked at (but did not buy) a few models, including 2,000 dollar Weather by Ultra Lightweight hunting rifle.

Throughout his day, he was trailed by a reality TV camera crew, for his proposed series, Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office.

Johnston’s almost mother-in-law, Sarah Palin, was mayor of Wasilla from 1992-2002, before she became governor of the state, a position she resigned 13 months ago. Johnston’s previous work experience includes being a model for Playgirl magazine.

And while TV host Jimmy Kimmel tossed his hat into the ring to become Johnston’s campaign manager - and already devised a bumper sticker reading, “Elect me Mayor or I’ll Date all Your Daughters” - it was Kathy Griffin who upped the ante for the position.

“The campaign would be based on me being the first lady,” People mag quoted Griffin as saying.

“But it would also be based on a celebration of Levi trolling the town shirtless - or being photographed in the shower in various stages of undress,” Griffin added. (ANI)
