Summary Box: Rates head higher as stocks recover
MORE BAD INDICATORS: Investors had some bad economic news to digest Wednesday morning, another slump in home sales and weak durable goods orders.
AN EARLY RALLY: Treasury yields started the day lower as investors piled into safe asssets. The yield on the 10-year note went as low as 2.42 percent.
SAFETY TRADE FADES: Bond prices weakened steadily throughout the day as investors went back to riskier and potentially higher-return assets like stocks and commodities. The 10-year yield rose back to 2.54 percent in the late afternoon.
